"I first heard Carnival of Souls (piano version) almost 3 years ago. I had just written my film after dreaming it one night, and Verne Langdon had sent it to me along with other songs in his collection. the moment I heard the song, I called him and told him I had to have it in my film. Its amazing that he had written the song prior to my writing the script for Carnival of Souls, my film. The lyrics and mood of the song was everything my story was and more. As a film maker, my job is to put together the images in my head and script on screen, like limbs on a body. But Verne Langdon's Carnival of Souls, the music, is the heartbeat that gives the movie its life. Add this CD to your collection, and hopefully you will be moved by the music, as I was when I first heard it."
A DARK AND EERIE CARNIVAL

"Verne Langdon's new CD The Carnival Of Souls Collection is comprised of variations on a theme, seemingly released to plug a new movie of that title by director Edgar Arce. What emerges here is - in addition to 3 previously released versions of the song - the new Arce film title song version, which is a very dark and moody composition, plus a music box version and a full orchestral version featuring Verne Langdon at the concert grand piano. The latter three versions are from the Arce film. I can't get it out of my head; the lyrics are dark - even suicidal, and the music is, to say the very least, haunting. It's creepy, it's eerie, and it's VERY Verne Langdon. "Carnival Of Souls" is a deep, moving composition; this Verne Langdon Carnival Of Souls Collection is a unique 6-track one-song-array presentation of the Poe-esque Verne Langdon's Carnival Of Souls. It's worth collecting!
