The internationally acclaimed Verdehr Trio has performed throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and Central and South America. The Trio has been featured on ABC Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong Radio, Südwest Rundfunk in Germany, and Austrian National Radio, and has twice performed and presented master classes in the major cities of the People's Republic of China. The Trio is in residence at Michigan State University where violinist Walter Verdehr and clarinetist Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr are on the faculty. Pianist Gary Kirkpatrick is a member of the faculty of the William Paterson College in New Jersey. Leslie Bassett (b.1923, USA) joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 1952, chaired the composition department from 1970 to 1985, and helped found the Electronic Music Studio there. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Music in 1966. Charles Hoag (b.1931) is professor of music theory and composition at the University of Kansas. His recent honors include grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, NEH, and the International Society of Bassists. Katherine Hoover's (b. 1937) works have been performed by more than fifteen orchestras and her chamber music has been championed by the Montclaire and Colorado Quartets; Dorian, Sylvan, and Richards Quintets; Verdehr, Huntingdon, and Eroica Trios, and The New Jersey Chamber Music Society.
