"I prefer this import CD over than One Way's reissue because it has "The Fabulous Ventures" in true stereo instead of mono and the remastering is much better with less hiss. It's worth the extra money. "Fabulous" is another fine LP of cover material (many British Invasion hits) and some excellent original instrumentals like "Only The Young", "Mariner 9" and "Scrachin'".
"Wild Things" may be the hardest rocking album the best Ventures line-up ever recorded, influenced heavily by the USA garage band sound that exploded in 1966. Nokie Edwards and Don Wilson go fuzztone crazy all over this album, and its worth buying to just hear thier hilarious cover of the Troggs classic.
The originals are a lot of fun, including the now-popular "Wild Child" which was sampled and looped over and over as the main riff of the Wiseguys hit "Start The Commotion" a few years ago."
