Calling in Duane Eddy to do "I fought the Law" was brilliant. I bought two copies of this, in case I break one. I don't do that often. If you are not a ventures fan, this CD will convert you!" "Wild Again" starts off powerfully, but once you get to their weak take on Beethoven's Fifth (although I LOVE the title Beethoven Five-Oh!!!), the tracks begin lose a lot of lustre. If you are a die-hard Ventures fan, there are enough enjoyable tunes here. If, on the other hand, you want to pick up just one excellent modern day Ventures CD that packs a similar feel, but with an absolutely solid and passionate performance from start to finish, I strongly urge you to check out their "New Depths" album. "Wild Again" is decent enough, but definitely not The Ventures at their finest." Obviously not, this is one of the best albums The Ventures ever put together, I've owned the CD since 1997. The sad side to this album is the un-timely death of The Venture's long-time drummer Mel Taylor came just before the release. The Ventures still tour Japan twice a year with huge turnouts and still perform occasional programs in the US. If you love rocking driving guitar sounds blended with mellower tunes too; then this album is a must -- Go see them if they come to your area also. It is worth it. These guys are now in the Rock Hall of Fame and it is about time often referred to as the band that started a 1000 bands. It's true."
