Drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare better know as Sly and Robbie need little in the way of introduction... They have already graced many of the previous Pressure Sounds releases and are probably the best-known rhythm section in Jamaica. On Unmetered Taxi, the focus is on their Taxi Productions. Taxi has a stunning catalogue and this new compilation showcases the very finest of the labels early output. Black Uhuru, The Viceroys, The Tamlins, The Wailing Souls, and Dennis Brown have all recorded for Sly and Robbie and are all gathered here along with several super rare dub plates and hard to find versions from other past Taxi artists. Twenty-two tracks of bliss, spread out over this re-mastered CD, along with a beautiful and lovingly put together booklet with pictures of the groups and the studio from the early 80s, this is a stunning compilation!
