Eastern-flavored worldbeat

"This is an Eastern-flavored set. The one exception might be the Gotan Project's "Triptico" that begins Disc 2, but it fits right in.I first listened to this CD during a three-hour drive back from Houston in the wee hours of Easter morning in horrendously stormy weather. The first disc, "Dream," didn't particularly live up to its title, though I enjoyed it anyway. The second disc, however, was a literal "Joy," with the music propelling me through the lightning and driving rain with a degree of appropriateness that will make it an enduring memory. It was as if the music were choreographed to the road and weather. If you are at all interested in worldbeat/dance hybrids, buy this and try your favorite highway cruise with Disc 2 playing. It's not bad just sitting home listening, either!"
Weaving disparate sounds together

"Buy this CD and listen to it. In doing so you allow your mind to go on a journey. Start by imagining yourself reclining in a comfortable and lavish lounge in Paris... close your eyes, you will roam far and wide over Mediterranean soundscapes from places like Morocco, Andalucian Spain, Algeria. Enjoy the atmospheres it invites you to drink in. The disks may seem expensive, but the trip they offer requires no plane tickets... just the music."
Buy this just for "Joy".

""Joy" (Disc 2), a bit more up tempo, is much more to my preference than "dream" (Disc 1). "Joy" is a great driving, working, or party mix. Bit of an indian / world music vibe with great loungey electronica beats."
