The Wal-Mart of Worship Albums

"The WOW Worship series is an interesting thing. It's like shopping at Wal-Mart: there's enough here that almost anyone will find something of interest. That is both a strength and a weakness, though, for if you're looking for an album/experience that has a cohesive feel and sound, you may be disappointed. The original WOW Worship (Blue) project was hit and miss. Full of popular choruses, the pacing of the album was somewhat disjointed. WOW Worship (Orange) largely solved that problem by putting the more modern worship tunes on the orange disc and the more traditional choruses on the cyan disc. This new WOW Worship (Green) follows that same strategy, to its credit. (FYI, that orange disc remains my single favorite disc from the WOW Worship series to this day). The line-up isn't quite as impressive as it was on the first two projects. Some of the more notable modern cuts include the exceptional "We Fall Down," "All Things Are Possible," "Lord Reign In Me," and "Shout To the North." On the traditional side you'll get great ones like "Good To Me," "Cry Of My Heart," "Great Is the Lord," and "Awesome In This Place." There is an overall strong Hillsongs, Passion, and Vineyard presence on both discs. Solo artists included are Michael W Smith, Twila Paris, Delirious, and Ten Shekel Shirt. For any hardcore modern worship fans, WOW Worship (Green) will be a one-disc-only winner (and the I COULD SING OF YOUR LOVE FOREVER collection would be a better purchase) since you'll avoid the second, traditional disc like the plague. But if you're a fan of all styles of worship or just want to pick up another album that has a good selection of today's more popular choruses, then this is a fine choice. FOUR STARS"
Just as good as the other two Wow Worship Collections

"Wow Worship Blue was so well-received that they came out with the next one, Wow Worship Orange, pretty quickly. Now we have Wow Worship Green and I hope this is a series that's going to continue!More and more people are choosing to buy worship music CDs - and these compilations by Integrity, Maranatha, and Vineyard are the perfect way to hear a wide variety of praise songs! There are some slow contemplative songs and some upbeat and lively ones. You're sure to find lots of favorites here, and you'll learn some new ones too! This double-CD set contains liner notes with words to all the songs! Sometimes on compilation CDs, they leave out the words and that's always a disappointment to me. They even go one better with this release - they tell you not only the artist and label, but there's a picture of the cover of the CD each song is from, so you can buy those albums too, if you want.My favorites on this collection are: The Power of Your Love, He Is Exalted, I Worship You Almighty God, He Knows My Name, Think About His Love, and Agnus Dei. Actually, there are many versions of "Agnus Dei", which first appeared on Michael W Smith's "Go West Young Man" back in 1990. Then Third Day did an AWESOME rendition of this song on Exodus (my all-time favorite theme album, by the way). (And Amy Grant included this song on her most recent Christmas CD. That was quite a surprise as I wasn't really expecting that on a Christmas CD!)I'm listening to Wow Worship Green Disc 2 while writing this review - Draw Me Close will draw YOU close to HIM!! Praise God for great worship music like this!If you like Christian books and Christian music, see my other reviews!"

"I really enjoyed this uplifting praise album. wow has come out with its series of albums....I enjoyed the blue one(the original one that started it all. I would recommend this as a keeper for the wow collection. I can't wait until the next album as well as the regualr album. It has a good mixture of classical as well as contemporary praise songs and it has serious as well as fast ones also."
