A decent compilation of Christian worship music

"Having had the WOW Worship Orange for several years, I decided to update and get the latest release when my wife saw this in a local store. There are many great songs that can make you sit back and bask in God's marvelous presence (How Great Is Our God; Here I Am To Worship; Who Am I; Forever). These are good meditative songs with a mellow background appropriate for a personal devotional time.
There are some that absolutely ROCK from other names that I'm unfamiliar with in Christian music (as well as the usual CCM groups and individuals) that focus on God's attributes and how He really wants to us to view Him (You Are Holy (Prince Of Peace); Be Glorified; You Are Good; Yesterday, Today and Forever; Let It Rise; Friend Of God; Indescribable; Days Of Elijah; Alive Forever, Amen).
I find myself listening to some songs over and over again because they have such a powerful message that I just can't get enough to help in my walk with the Lord. Many of these artists are new to me, so I've had my own musical horizons broadened, and that's a good thing! What incredible diversity we have in the Body of Christ with such gifted artists!
By the same token, there are a couple songs that I just don't like, hence my 4-star rating.
My Glorious (by Delirious?) starts with a heavy rock beat and I fast forward to the next song every time I get to this song; they sound like they are delirious and this song just doesn't seem to have any worship qualities to me. Please understand: I like a good rock beat, good guitars and keyboards and all that, but these guys sound kind of angry to me. Maybe this isn't indicative of all their music, but based on what I've heard here, I think I'll pass on their albums unless someone can assure me that they are a well-rounded group with differing musical styles.
The Heart Of Worship seems to show up on every worship album, and I've gotten tired of hearing it. It's as though many groups have their own rendition of this song and they can't put it on enough albums. I'm not trying to be hard-hearted or critical here about this song, but just sharing my own feelings. If you like this song, that's fine with me. But please, let's put this song to rest for a while.
This album has many redeeming qualities to it. With 17 songs on the first disc and 16 on the second disc, you can have a great time for a couple well-spent hours being lifted into God's presence and enjoying your worship and adoration of Him by many excellent vocalists. You can get a good feel for what other groups and individuals are doing in one collection and decide if you want to purchase their own individual albums.
I think that these compilations are well worth the money spent; you really cannot go wrong with any of them. I'm extremely tough on Christian music that I'll buy, and if there are several songs that really get my attention the first time I hear it, I'm pretty much sold. This collection most assuredly has that. If the collection doesn't, I'll find a way to sell it. Needless to say, this one is a keeper for me. Listen, enjoy, and revel in your worship of our Most High God!"
Very good

"One of the best worship CDs I have listened to! Almost all my favorite songs are on the CDs. Being able to listen to these worship songs helps me stay focused on God even while I'm deployed."

"This entire albumn is spiritually uplifting....and a total worship cd. It is awesome! I have copied the words of a few songs to send to America's deployed servicemen and women around the world. I wish I could send the albumn to each of them so they could hear the music! Our church sings nearly every one of the songs on this albumn! And I love the different styles of the individual artists.....Agnus Dei (Worthy is the Lamb) by Third Day is almost a Rock style that I love and I am not a fan of Rock music! Which only goes to show that God can be praised in any form of music! Hope, joy, love, praise are all harmonized in this cd. I love it!"
"'THE ANTHEM OF THE LORD'S RENOWN'-"Holy is the Lord"-Bethany Dillon
Some anthems:
"Worthy is the Lamb"-Passion Worship Band
'Thank You for the cross, Lord. Thank You for the price You paid. Bearing all my sin and shame, in love You came and gave amazing grace. Thank You for this love Lord. Thank You for your nail pierced hands. Washed me in Your cleansing flow, now all I know: Your forgiveness and embrace. Seated on the throne, crown You now with many crowns....Darling of Heaven crucified,
You reign victorious.'
"Wonderful Maker"-Jeremy Camp
You spread out the skies over empty space, said, let there be light. To a dark and formless world,
Your light was born. You spread out your arms over empty hearts, said, let there be light. To a dark and hopeless world Your son was born. You made the world and saw that it was good, You sent your only son, for you are good. What a wonderful maker, what a wonderful savior, how majestic your whispers, and how humble your love.'
"Wonderful, Merciful Savior"-Selah
'Wonderful, merciful Savior, precious Redeemer and Friend, who would have thought that a Lamb could rescue the souls of men? Counselor, Comforter, Keeper...You offer hope when our hearts have hopelessly lost the way. You are the One that we praise, You are the One we adore, You give the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for...Almighty, infinite Father, faithfully loving Your own, here in our weakness You find us, falling before Your throne.'
"Alive, forever Amen."-Warren Barfield
'Let my heart sing out/For Christ the One and only/So powerful and holy/RESCUEd ME/Death won't hurt me now/Because He has redeemed me/No grave will ever keep me/From my King/Worthy is the Lamb/Worthy of our praise/Worthy is the One/Who has overcome the grave...Worthy is the mighty King.'
"All Who Are Thirsty"-Kutless
'All who are thirsty/All who are weak/Come to the fountain/Dip your heart in the stream of life/Let the pain and the sorrow/Be washed away/In the waves of his mercy/As deep cries out to deep.
Come Lord Jesus come/...Holy Spirit come/...As deep cries out to deep'
"Sometimes by Step"-Rich Mullins
'Sometimes I think of Abraham/How one star he saw had been lit for me/He was a stranger in this land/And I am that, no less than he/And on this road to righteousness/Sometimes the climb can be so steep/I may falter in my steps/But never beyond Your reach'
"Who am I"-Casting Crowns
'Who am I? That the eyes that see my sin, would look on me with love, and watch me rise again
Who am I? That the voice that calm the sea, would call out through the rain, and calm the storm in me.
Not because of who I am. But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done. But because of who You are.
I am a flower quickly fading/Here today and gone tomorrow/A wave tossed in the ocean/A vapor in the wind/Still you hear me when I'm calling/Lord you catch me when I'm falling/And you told me who I am/I am yours.
Whom shall I fear, whom shall I fear?'
Too bad you can't sing the tunes. That's just a fraction of the songs I sing over and over. I love this!!! It's a fine collection of praise music. I've had this for some time now and have not gotten tired of it yet. The Wow collection of music is a great way to sample christian music and discover artists you may like. I was given several tapes from friends and family members years ago and was not disappointed. Neither will you be. This one's a keeper."

"I love all the WoW worship CD's including this one. You get 2 CD's with 16-17 songs on each CD. These are the most well known worship songs by the original artists. Can't get better worship music than this."
