Synopsis

Amazon.com
The original soundtrack to the runaway Adam Sandler hit The Waterboy features a cross-section of past hits and '90s favorites. The balance tilts toward classic rock, with Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Born on the Bayou," Rush's "Tom Sawyer," and John Mellencamp's "Small Town" leading the way. Among the modern cuts are Goldfinger's ska-tinged "More Today Than Yesterday," the Candyskins' hook-filled Britpop nugget "Feed It," and Candlebox's sprawling postgrunge epic "Glowing Soul." The film's producers exhibit an almost overly eclectic taste, with Earth, Wind & Fire's funky "Let's Groove" sharing disc space with the Doors' groovy antiwar anthem "Peace Frog" and a Big Head Todd & the Monsters cover of John Lee Hooker's bluesy stomp "Boom Boom." Like the soundtrack to Sandler's other '90s smash, The Wedding Singer, this collection strives to attract a wide range of music fans. --Richard Martin

Lacks major songs from the movie
07/31/1999

"This soundtrack did not live up to my expectations. There were many songs that were in the movie that ended up being ommitted from the soundtrack. I bought it for "Block Rocking Beats" which was in the movie, but mysteriously enough was out of the soundtrack!"
So close!

"This CD hits on many levels, but misses out big time with the omission of Everything's "Hooch." I don't know why the song was omitted, but it is one of the best tracks from the movie. Buy 'Supernatural' by Everything to go with it... or you're missing an important piece of the soundtrack."
Good but

"Like the readers above. I was searching for Block Rocking Beats. It was a major part of the movie yet it was left out of the album. Funny how that worked out. While you are there, pick up the other songs off the album and have your own version.................."
