"This cd is incredible!! Once again Lee Ritenour, has produced a successfull album in the "twist of" series! All of the songs are superb, and there's so much to observe in the texture of these arrangements. It's hard for me to pick a favorite track because I love them all! The stand outs to me are "Inner City Blues" with George Benson, "Creepin" with Bob James, "All This Love" with Gerald Albright, "Heard It Through the Grapevine" with Dave Grusin, and the last song, "Got To Be There," with Peter White. What makes this record stand out is the arrangements of each track. These artists put their heart and soul into each song, and it really pays off. Motown music has really stood the test of time, and I think it's wonderful that these various artists pay tribute to America's greatest treasures in music! If you love motown music, or any type of music with good grooves, and soulful melodies and harmonies, this is a MUST!!Nick Kalenze."

"I was looking for some up beat contemporary jazz to add to my collection. While overall, this CD was slightly more mellow than I expected, it definitely did not disappoint. I just LOVE the arrangement of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine". "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and "You Haven't Done Nothin" are fast becoming favorites. Lee Ritenour and the gang have done a great job of jazzing up these old favorites, and still allowing the feel created by Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and the others come through.
Add this CD to your collection, give it a spin, and feel the groove. It has definitely made the favorites list in my collection."
Timeless Classic!

"Personally I think this is by far the best in Lee Ritenour's "A Twist of ..." tribute series and above of all, one of the best in all contemporary jazz. Lee did it again teamed with all top-notch musicians - it will just never go wrong with Bob James, Peter White, Chris Botti, Gerald Albright, and Lee himself! All Motown songs just keep your spirit rolling with different flavors of arrangements and rhythms. It's relaxing, upbeat, and unquestionably a timeless classic! Wish I could put a 6-star there!
