"Three discs. 44,41,46 min. approximately each. Sound is good. This is a good set of ska as these things go. Some are true rarities, some have made appearrances before. Basically released in Jamaica only sometime in the sixties, these were the sounds that dancers found so exciting on the dance floor. Some of these were released in Britain in limited amounts and then quickly disappearred. The music itself features the usual people responsible for so much Jamaican music. If you are familiar with The Skatalites and other similar bands, you know what to expect. That inimitable beat so identified with ska is always at the forefront. Vocals are handled by such as The Maytals,Stranger and Patsy,Alton Ellis,The Techniques and many others known and relatively unknown. If you are a true lover of the ska period you should pick this up. If you are new to this style of music, this, along with the other Trojan volumes of ska, will go a long way in educating you about this music. If you're an old hand there is still enough here to satisfy your ska cravings."
