CD Reviews
Can't wait for "Greatest Hits Vol.2!!!!!" Clever Girl | Los Angeles, CA United States | 02/14/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "In a world where corporate conglomerates pollute our airwaves with mind numbing noise I wouldn't even call music, Trampoline Records is a breath of fresh air, a rare find in Los Angeles. Created as an outlet for the great music the "suits" clearly don't think you're ready or discriminating enough for, this CD far surpasses anything you will hear on the radio. The label is clearly a labor of love for founders Pete Yorn, Rami Jaffe and Marc Dauer, all amazing musicians in their own right, together they form a triple threat bound to become major power players in the indie music scene.
With highlights from Gingersol, introduced as "the best band in the world" at the Trampoline show at The House of Blues I attended this weekend and thus inspired my writing this review, they would at least make my top ten. Other bands on the label to make that list would be the Jukebox Junkies and of course Pete Yorn and his "Dirty Birds". Pete's also on my top ten "Sexiest Men on Earth" list too, but that's another story... Other highlights include strong performances from Jeff Trott, Minibar, Phil Cody, Rusty Truck, The Hangups, I could go on and on, it's all very, very good. An eclectic collection, so incredibly well produced it's a cohesive whole. Aptly labeled "Greatest Hits Vol. 1" and priced to get their artists and dare I say "mission" as much exposure as possible. This will be the best $... you ever spent."
