Living Legends of Old Time Music!

"This collection (check out Vols. 2-3 also) features fiddlers from the Ozark region and is an excellent sampling of the extraordinary talents still playing traditional music in the area. Most of these fiddlers are still living, as the recordings took place in the late 1990's. It is interesting to compare these recordings with reissues of 78's from the 1920's/30's (See "Music From the Lost Provinces", or "Echoes of the Ozarks", for example) -- you may find that even in this modern world there are still direct lines to the old time traditional music that enjoyed such a brief spotlight earlier in this century. Highly recommended for any fan of fiddling."
