"This great collection contains some real classics of the genre. Kicking off with the Sex Pistols' seminal Anarchy In The UK, it includes the brilliant dark guitar rock of The Skids and their classic Into The Valley, the intelligent pop-punk of Buzzcocks, the raucous live version of Sheena Is A Punk Rocker by The Ramones, the droning experimentation of Public Image Ltd with Public Image, and ends quite appropriately with Sid Vicious' My Way, a song that basically signalled the end of the punk era. My favorites include Penetration's classic Don't Dictate, the delightful pop of Teenage Kicks by the Undertones and the weird but engaging Flying Lizards and their quirky version of Money. Bow Wow Wow was a later phenomenon and Sham 69 represented the dumber side of punk to me, whilst Wire was quite experimental and difficult from the beginning. Still, this is a good collection that would have been better if it included a track or two by Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Damned, The Clash, The Jam and X Ray Spex."
