CD Reviews

Great price--but it would have been better if it was unmixed
Daniel W. Kelly | Long Island, NY United States | 01/16/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Thrive, a label known for its two disc sets of hot and rare remixes, gives us this single disc compilation, filled with several sought after mixes, but also an odd assortment of music genres, some of which only allow for LP versions--crunk and hip hop hits in the middle of a house/electro music CD is kinda weird). Good news is, the sought after remixes are predominantly over 5 minutes on this disc. Just wish it had been an unmixed disc with all the full length remixes. Track times:

1. Glamorous (poetnamelife mix)...fergie (5:55) (almost unrecognizable as this huge fergie hit. Lots of new vocal not on the original track)

2. clothes off (josh harris mix)...gym class heroes (5:22) (great dance mix)

3. cupid shuffle...cupid (4:39)

4. tell me (mr. mig mix)...christina aguilera & diddy (4:16) (If there is more than 4 minutes of this fantastic mix, I wish we could have gotten a longer version)

5. because of you (sunfreakz mix)...ne-yo (5:08) (one of the hot, unreleased dance mixes)

6. promiscuous (axwell 2008 mix)...nelly furtado (3:54)

7. bossy (braxe & falke mix)...kelis (4:42)

8. easy...paula deanda (3:56)

9. it's goin down...yung joc (2:32)

10. a bay bay...hurricane chris (2:33)

11. this is why i'm hot...mims (3:53)

12. world hold on...bob sinclar (6:56)

13. truly madly deeply (thomas gold mix)...cascada (4:46)

14. stranger (wawa mix)...hilary duff (5:22) (great to have this unreleased mix clocking in at over 5 minutes)

15. never again (dave aude mix)...kelly clarkson (6:47) (near seven minutes of this unreleased mix. Awesome)

16. thanks for the memories (lenny b mix)...fall out boy (7:03) (this remix of this huge hit is definitely a reason to pick up this compilation)"
The Best Party Mix Ever!

"This cd kicks off with Glamorous and the transition from dance to hip hop mid album is seemless.

I've been playing it non stop since I bought it."
Great except for three lame rap tracks
Wandering Eye | California | 06/17/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a very good dance mix album except for the inclusion of three terrible rap songs that are not danceable and completely break the flow of the album. I'm talking about "It's Goin' Down", "A Bay Bay", and "This Is Why I'm Hot", which I deleted after one listen. All of the rest of the songs are great fun dance remixes. I especially liked the mixes of "Never Again" and "Stranger" that breathed new life into these songs. The album was well worth the cost of the download."
