Album DescriptionTales from the Tavern arose out of a collective wish and a community effort to bring live music to the Santa Ynez Valley; specifically, music geared for, but not limited to, an adult audience that came up in the rock and roll era. Our focus with Tales from the Tavern is on music that influenced, that became, and that flowed out of the so-called folk-rock movement of the 1960s; singer-songwriters with acoustic guitars, poets, philosophers, storytellers, American troubadours. "The common thread of this series is the American experience. All of these artists have traveled extensively, through and around this country--as troubadours, shaping their journey of discovery, and ours, in song. Another connection is that they all defy or transcend categorization. In all of their performances, you'll hear elements of folk, blues, jazz, country and rock and roll. To me, that's what makes it American music." --Ron Colone, Co-Producer
