Beautiful music - but with a sampler mentality

"This is a wonderful album - albeit one with a couple of weak tracks. Jaci Velasquez' "I Will Rest In You" is probably the best song she's ever recorded (musically AND lyrically) and features her most nuanced performance. Likewise, Michelle Tumes, Delirious? (with Amy Grant providing harmony vocals) Burlap to Cashmere and Chris Rodriguez turn in dynamite tracks, each of which gets better on repeat listening. The instrumental/orchestral tracks at the end are also beautiful and soothing.Unfortunately, the CD plays like a sampler, with nearly every major/developing Word Records artist getting a song. This works against the album, especially given the weak contributions by Point of Grace and 4HIM (and given the glaring absence of Sandi Patty, whose voice and style would have fit right in with this project). It also means that the album is less thematically unified than Word's last mega-project, "My Utmost For His Highest" (also based on a popular devotional). Still, any one of the good moments on this CD is worth the purchase price. For these moments, I highly recommend it."
Good Meditative CD

""Streams" is a collection of songs of a more appropriate for medidation instead rather than upbeat praise. The collection contains 14 songs of which in my humble opinion, the first 7 are much better than the last 7. Songs such as: Don't Give Up, Breathe, Sanctuary, Hold On, The Only Thing I Need, Find Me in the River, I Will Rest in You are deeply moving while the other songs did not do as much for me.Despite this, I highly recommend the cd. Buy and enjoy!"
