Snap, Crackle, Pop

"The fire contains a background roar, quiet pops, loud pops, and an occasional hiss. The sound quality is very consistent. I particularly like the periodic pops that sound like they're coming from the back of the fireplace, giving the sound some dimension. The only problems I have are these:
The recording is extremely quiet, so the volume must be turned way up for the popping to be heard.
There is no sound of a log settling on the andirons (sigh). There is simply 72 minutes of lively crackling."
EXCELLENT WOODFIRE RECORDING

"Oreade Music puts out the highest quality Nature Sounds recordings on CD. Their recordings are superior to the other companies putting out nature recordings. They record the CD in DDD. DDD is a code printed on some CDs, it means - a digital tape recorder was used during session recording, mixing and/or editing, and mastering(transcription). They don't mix in any New Age music crap with their sounds, it's 100% pure nature sounds. This CD has an excellent recording of a wood fire burning, you can hear the crackling flames and wood pop. This CD is good for White Noise to help with insomnia."
Perfect Accessory to an Electric Fireplace

"The newer electric fireplaces are beautiful, but most/all are silent. When played through speakers tucked behind or alongside ours, this CD completed the illusion with authentic crackles and hiss. Band 1 builds slowly, mimicking lighting the fire, and ends with a full blaze. Band 2 continues the blaze, and then ends with a dying fire. We set ours to "repeat" and enjoy it all evening."
