A Super Soundtrack for a Super Show

"I just bought the CD today and it's wonderful! The show is one of the best retellings of the Superman legend. Here is a breakdown of the songs:1. Save Me - Remy Zero (The Opening Theme, Remy Zero's straight ahead rocker, awesome song!)2. Inside Out - VonRay
3. Island In The Sun - Weezer
4. Superman - Five For Fighting (Of Course, No Superman Soundtrack should be without this song. It's filled with wonder of a Superman knowing that he's got powers but is human at heart.)
5. Nuclear - Ryan Adams
6. Lonely Day - Phantom Planet
7. Fight Test - The Flaming Lips
8. Don't Dream It's Over - Sixpence None The Richer (A cover of the 80's hit by Crowded House - But it's given a softer alt. touch, but works for the CD)
9. Wave Goodbye - Steadman
10. I Just Wanna Be Loved - AM Radio
11. Everything - Lifehouse (Used at the end of the Pilot ep. It expresses Clark's feelings for Lana at the beginning of the 1st season. It's a beautiful moving song)
12. Time After Time - Eva Cassidy (From the late Eva Cassidy, comes this haunting beautiful version of the Cindy Lauper hit. Eva's vocals make this song touching.)The 12 Tracks are current hip songs, but they do make up the musical history of Smallville. If your a fan of Today's Pop Rock, Smallville, or any of WB's great shows. You'll really enjoy this soundtrack!"
Excellent but something's missing

"If you're a fan of the Smallville series you'll notice one glaring omission from this CD: The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go" This was played in Episode 2 when Clark was returning Lana's kryptonite necklace. To many people, that was the show's "anthem," if you wish, that captured everything about Clark's feelings for Lana. Otherwise, this is a pretty representative CD of the show. The banner songs are there: Remy Zero's "Save Me" and Five For Fighting's "Superman". Von Ray's "Inside Out" and Weezer's "Island In The Sun" take you back into the halls of Smallville High. Sixpence's "Don't Dream It's Over" is a remarkable remake version I think, very much the Talon experience! My personal favorite is Eva Cassidy's "Time After Time" rendition, sang during Whitney's father's funeral. What an emotional rendition! I'm not as enthusiastic with the inclusion of Phantom Planet's "Lonely Day" and The Flaming Lips' "Fight Test" though. Maybe it's because I can't really remember or put these songs into their proper episodes. Which brings me back to my first complaint about how songs such as "Wherever You Will Go" should probably have been in this disc. But that's just me. The CD is an enhanced version that you pop into your CD-Rom to access the first issue of the Smallville comic book, chapters from the Smallville novels, a 3D interactive map of Smallville, Lex's mansion, the Talon, and the Kent farm, live performances by Von Ray and Remy Zero (NOT Save Me though) and a trading card. You either get Lana, Lex or Clark. Overall it's a must have for every Smallville fan! It brings you back to remembering special moments in the episodes!"

"I must say that Smallville has got to be one of my favourite shows at the moment. When I heard that they were releasing a CD soundtrack, I was quick to preorder this title. In terms of the songs, this is a great compilation where most of the tracks have been played on the most recent episodes to air. Of course the CD includes the theme song "Save Me" by Remy Zero which - as a sidenote - causes my nephew to run into the room every time he hears the chorus as he knows he's likely to see Clark on the TV screen. As with other soundtracks out at the moment - like Roswell - this CD is enhanced with special features that are (supposed to be) assessible from the computer and internet. To be clear, you will need the CD (your key) to be able to download the components allowing you to access the special features like the 3-D interactive map of the town, access to the first smallville comic and preview chapters to upcoming Smallville novels. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to access these special features as I'm having trouble installing the CD key components.
(The troubleshooting link wasn't much help.) But if you just like the songs or are a fan of the show then this is a great addition to your CD collection!"

"If you want to relive the moments of Smallville, this CD will be an excellent companion for you "die-hard" fans. Most of the tracks emulate the mood of the show, with memorable songs like "Don't Dream It's Over" by Sixpence None The Richer, "Everything" by Lifehouse, "Time After Time" by Eva Cassidy, and of course, the "opening title" song, "Save Me" by Remy Zero, in which the band also appeared in the first season's cliffhanger finale. I was disappointed, however, that "Wherever you will go" by The Calling, didn't make the final 12 tracks. In my opinion, it set the tone for the "rollercoaster" relationship between Lana and Clark and makes you think of the times that made you say out loud, "Dammit, Clark!". Despite this, the 12 tracks and the bonus "enhanced" material (playable on a PC) are well worth the cost. If you are an avid fan, and you want to reminisce over the episodes of Smallville, this CD is a "must-buy"..."
A nice mix of the show's more mellow music.

"My husband and I watch Smallville regularly, so I recently purchased this soundtrack for him as a gift. While we love the theme song and enjoy much of the other music on the show, I did fear the the CD would contain some of the show's more metal-sounding tunes. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that this is a soundtrack of very mellow music--think of the many sweet but sad songs that are played as Clark and/or Lana stares off into space at the end of each episode. There are also two cover tunes for the older crowd: Time After Time (made famous by Cyndi Lauper, who co-wrote the song with Rob Hyman of The Hooters) and Don't Dream It's Over (Crowded House). This collection serves as great background music for relaxing or even a dinner party; recommended for other 30-something Smallville fans like us."
