A slightly unusual release for the Stomper Time label sees a compilation of material from Chas McDevvitt's early recordings, plus other early skiffle material.Contains the original version of Freight Train which went Top 40 in the US and reached #5 in the UK.Skiffle became a major musical movement in the UK during the late 1950s and whilst it is often credited only as a simple forerunner to British Rock'n'Roll, a great deal of the early skiffle was played by skilled trad jazz musicians.
