The soundtrack to the biopic of late Texan star Selena is an even better homage to the singer than the film itself. Incorporating rare tracks, hits, and sizzling live cuts, the album brims with Selena's energy and charisma... more ». Especially invigorating are "Disco Medley, Part II," recorded during Selena's triumphant 1995 concert at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the eight-minute live Cumbia Medley, which blends some of her biggest Spanish hits. "Where Did the Feeling Go?" is an early pop precursor to nuanced hits such as "I Could Fall in Love" and "Dreaming of You," which are also included. The album also features Selena's searing rendition of "A Boy Like That," originally featured on a West Side Story tribute album, and "Viviras Selena," a touching tribute featuring Tejano stars Jennifer Peña, Emilio, and Bobby Pulido. --Joey Guerra« less

The tracks for this cd are listed and are the same as the "remastered" one that you can find on this site. This is the original issue. Great medley of Selena's work.

"I love this soundtrack for Selena's songs. Especially the ballads 'Where did the feeling go' and 'Only love' because you cannot get them elsewhere! My favourite song was 'Is it the beat', which is sung to the tune of 'Enomaorada de ti' club mix. I also love 'A boy like that' and the brilliant cumbia medley, Selena singing live is stunning! I quite liked the oldies medley and the other tribute songs, but they were not as good as Selena!! 'Dreaming of you' and 'I could fall in love' are so beautiful. Anyone who saw the movie and like the songs should definetly buy this soundtrack and 'All my hits todos mis exitos', because all the songs from the movie are on that. Definetly a great cd!!"
This is the very first CD I ever bought and love!

"Back in '97, I saw the movie SELENA in the theaters with one of my friends. We both loved it. After seeing the movie, we went to our hometown's mall and I bought the soundtrack for this movie. And I have to say this soundtrack is absolutely one of my top five favorite CDs out of my entire huge CD collection. Before this movie, I'd never even heard of Selena, so I knew of nothing about her death or her music, well actually, I do remember hearing "Dreaming Of You" being played on the radio in '95, but I never really knew much about Selena. The best tracks on this entire soundtrack are: "Disco Medley Part 1", "Where Did The Feeling Go?", "Disco Medley Part 2", "Is It The Beat?", "Only Love", "Dreaming Of You", "A Boy Like That", "I Could Fall In Love", and especially "Cumbia Medley" - the songs Selena sings in Spanish on this soundtrack. "Where Did The Feeling Go?" and "Only Love" are previously not released on any of Selena's other albums, so these two are really beautiful songs and this soundtrack is a great way to add these two songs to your Selena collection. A person who's never heard of Selena before will get a pre-view of what Selena's music is like from this soundtrack before going out to buy one of Selena's albums. But this whole soundtrack - even the extras - are beautiful and wonderful. Selena's voice is stunning. And I have to say that my absolute favorite Selena song is "Dreaming Of You". Oh, by the way...Jennifer Lopez did an excellent job portraying Selena in the movie; you just couldn't have found a more perfect Selena match than Jennifer Lopez! I recommend both this soundtrack and the movie. You'll love both!"
SELENA YOU'RE STILL THE BEST.

"It's increible that had been 8 years since this big star was murdered.
There's another thing that I don't understand. How come her record company is not producing this masterpiece?.
I want to share my story with Selena. I always heard about her but I never heard her music until 1995 when I heard that she was murdered by her manager. So in 1997 when I was flying from Lima to Miami the in-flight movie was "Selena" and I found the movie very good and I also must say that J.Lo and Selena were similar. While I was in Miami I bought the soundtrak (this album) and felt in love with it. Had been almost 6 years and I still hear it oftenly.
This album has some of her Donna Summer's covers (I think that she was Selena's favorite singer) and several of her crossover songs such as "I could fall in love" and "Dreaming of you" from her Multi-Platinum first and only English album. And you can also find here her famous cumbias that made her win a Grammy award one yaer before her death.
It's a pitty that she's not with us anymore but we still have her music.
And the last thing I'll say is to buy this album if you like selena. I think it's her best one."

"The CD that accompanies the acclaimed film dedicated to slain Tejano singer Selena (many know she's my favorite all-time performer, and my first inspiration for singing) is a great tribute. It incorporates many rare tracks and shows us why Selena was one of the world's best."
