"The scarlett pimpernel is an amazing film that is based on equally amazing novels! the BBC series score is no less wonderful. It captures the spirit and utter charm of the pimernel and does it with marvalous easy. the score is as witty and full of life as the very character it represents. the composer helped bring to life the grace and wit of the scarlett pimernel in a way. so that ever time you hear it you can't stop smiling about the most elusive man in all of england. the composers brought out the adventure of the pimpernel but most amazingly of all he seemed to strick the right cord and with no effort at all bring to life the true love between Margurite and Sir Percy(the scarlett pimpernel)!"
Beautiful Music For A Not-Entirely-Perfect Retelling

"If critics complain about the BBC version of "The Scarlet Pimpernel", it certainly isn't for the music, which provides an excellent backdrop to the age old tale of double identities, intriegue, and lying to your husband about having his friend beheaded because he hung your parents, which sends him into a spree of saving French aristocrats from the guillotine. The movie itself does deviate from the novel quite a bit in parts, but is overall a pretty fun movie. Watch it, then read the book. And buy the CD while you're at it. PS For some reason, the soundtrack dubs the main female lead as "Margheritte". I don't know if this was a horrible spelling error, but the correct name is "Marguerite". Just to let you know."
