"Overall, I think this is a good album. BUT, I think the Reggae Gold's of a few years back were a bit more cutting-edge. This cd has a few too many songs and beats that have been out for a while. I remember a few years back when "Just Gimmie the Light" was on the Reggae Gold series almost a year before the song got widespread recognition. I don't think there are any of those songs on this one.
I would like to praise a few of the tracks in order from good to great. Track 2: King of the Dancehall is good but it has been out for a few months (I would have really liked to see his fresher release 'Imagination' featuring Devonte). Track 5: 'Or Wah' is good (Luv Capleton). Track 12: 'Lava Ground' shows the excellent talent of newcomer I Wayne. Track 14: 'Superior' by Gentleman shows his impressive skill.
Finally, my favorite two tracks!
Track 8: 'Longing For' is Jah Cure's best song to date(i.m.h.o) and has been released on Reggae Hits 34(which is a better collection of songs for 2005).
***Track 13: 'Hail to the King' by Fantan Mojah impressed me the most! THE BEST NEW ARTIST ON THE REGGAE SCENE!! He has another cut called 'Hungry' on Reggae Hits 34 that is also an amazing song. Keep your eyes on this artist.***"
Don't believe the other reviews

"I find it an odd coincidence that so many of the positive comments here are made on the same date. I realize the reason I've never heard of any of these artists is because their music isn't any good. You're better off getting Dancehall Nice Again 2005."
Excellent and Refreshing

"This one is a masterpiece. I found out they were giving away 4 free downloads of this song at myspace/reggaegold. after I got my 4 songs for free, I just had to get the whole album. The best thing I did music wise this year."
This is a gem

"This CD was a definite reggae/dancehall classic. I can't wait for the full release for 18 Karat Reggae Gold 2006. The digital downloads are out already and they are available for free downloads at www.myspace.com/tcooo"
Vineyard is the best new reggae artist

"If you have not heard the song 'Stolen Legacy' by Vineyard, I would recommend buying this CD just for that song. The song is a classic and reminds me of Bob Marley's 'Old Pirates'. Oh yea, Afayah, Zeego Zaro and Stapler are pretty good too."
