Punk doesn't live up to my expectations...but overall good

"The cd did an excellent job covering the songs, and keeping to the roots, but nothing new was added to them. The groups didn't make the songs their own like I am usually accostumed to when Punk covers anything. So overall, it was a good cd, just not the way I would expect punk to do it.
Ok well since Amazon.com isn't going to do this anytime soon, I'll put what was covered.
1. Buddy Holly-Angry Samoans-I guess since this is one Weezer's bigger hits, its fitting to put it as the first one...actually I almost had a hard time distinguishing the original from this one granted Rivers, has a distinctive sound. Overall a good job with the song!
2. Photograph-the Vibrators-this is one of my favorite on this cd. They did an excellent job, and it was the renditions like this that I gave the cd an overall rating of 4.
3. Surf Wax America-Sidekicks-Keeping with the original again, but unlike Buddy Holly this one, the singer is deifnately singing in his range.
4. Hash Pipe-Flipper-oh yeah, this is a good one.
5. Teenage Victory Song-The Billionaires-Song is good, but I feel that if they were to be the one to sing this song originally they would have been booed off the stage.
6. Tired of Sex-Latterday Saints-OK version
7. Island in the Sun-Monkey Pirates-Yeah a really good version, I rank it up with 'Photograph.' A good example of punk groups taking a song, keeping it recognizeable, but adding their flavor to it.
8. Holiday-Fizzy Bangers-It's pretty good, not much else stands out on this one.
9. Getchoo-Favourite Atomic Hero-Another time of that punk has made it their own. Good Job!
10. The Good Life-the Skulls-Good version, keeps it going.
11. Say It Ain't So-xDxIx-I really liked the original of the song, and this does a good job playing it. If this was just a normal tribute cd, i wouldn't have expected anything else, but since its not, I expected something else for this song. So i give this a 3/5 just because they did an excellent job re-playing a classic.
12. Dope Nose-the Targets-Ditto
13. Undone (The Sweater Song)-Dr. Know-A good version.Again, like its been said, overall this is a good tribute, I just expected something a little different, but glad I have it."
A punk mockery of weezer

"I am a huge Weezer fan and I love punk so I was really excited when I found this CD. I was very disappointed. "Holiday" is the only song I could actually listen to on the whole CD. The cover of the Sweater Song is without a doubt THE WORST song I have ever heard. DON'T BUY THIS CD!! Save your 15 bucks and just listen to the original Weezer recordings! =w= rocks."
Mostly bad

"this is a terrible tribute album with songs done mostly in one take without much care. easily my favorite song on here is "holiday" by the fizzy bangers. you can tell they really like =w= & didn't just learn the song in one day & spend 15 minutes in the studio. i suggest "rock music: a tribute to weezer" for a tribute album where the bands put much more care into the songs they were covering."
