"This is a tribute to the Dutch "pirate" radio station of the 1960s & 70s & contains jingles & musical tracks associated with the station from that era. Veronica lasted as an offshore radio station for 14 years & established itself as a very professional outfit becoming very much part of the musical fabric of the Dutch nation. It is a measure of the affection in which the station is still held that a web site exists to this day playing jingles, adverts, songs from the period 1960 to 1974, & a selection of old programmes from those days. Most of the programmes were taped onshore & broadcast from the ship & many survive to this day; thank goodness. Veronica was very popular in England & became my regular pop station after the British government closed the British pop pirates in 1967. This compilation reminds me of those golden days &, if you remember them too, this will serve as a powerful reminder of what we are still missing today."
