Quality house singles...

"NRK have long been a favorite to clued-up house music fans, through their Nite Life mixes and their on-going singles collections, called (natch) Singles Collection. Volume Four brings more of the underground sounds you'd expect, geared for breezy home listening as much as the dance floor. Meaning, "Ride the Storm" does parlay a slick disco beat, but it's doubtful the marriage counseling banter was designed for glitter floors. Disc One has the singles unmixed, packing Nick Holder's Ibiza money machine "Summer Daze," and Joeski & DJ Chus's sunset poem "El Amor," filled with guitar, bongos, and French whispers of a cookie recipe. Possibly. Miguel Migs keeps it free and easy on "Do it Again," while Twisted Pair's "Horny Hustle" is every bit the Latin free-for-all you would hope for. Though a bit dry as a listening experience due to DJ considerate lengthy intros and fade outs, the quality's impeccable. Jamie Anderson's bonus mix album adds a dozen more tracks, chopped quick and lively for an uptempo dub-disco groove. Filled with political speeches, raggae, and spoken word, however, it serves as a tidy extra that wouldn't turn heads on it's own."
