"Monarch of the Glen is an interesting UK drama about a (rather cute) yuppie living in London who is virtually dragged back home to take over the family estates in Scotland and be the traditional laird of the glen. The drama concentrates on his problems with the estate, his eccentric parents, and his failures in the area of recognising when women fancy him (you could shake him, really). In keeping with the location, the soundtrack is strongly influenced by traditional Scottish music and is background music - although some of the tracks are more modern in style, don't expect lots of vocals a la Ally McBeal. If you like moody music with swirling Scottish tunes and rhythms, this album could be for you (but I'd recommend the series to anyone who likes subtle English humour!)"

"I was anticipating receiving this CD. Upon receiving it, I was not disappointed. If you watch and love the show, you will love the CD. It really brings the scenes of the show to mind while it is playing. I love to play it at work, it brightens up my day without interrupting me with lots of words, I like the fact that it is mostly instrumental, very soothing. I love it and when it wears out, I'll buy it again."

"A beautiful soothing soundtrack that transports to the Highlands. Although there are some music cues I wish were on the soundtrak (most involving Hector) it's still great."
