Groovy, funky beats

"This CD came to me from a friend as something to complement a new funky house club we'd started frequenting. The punked up, sexy feel to this sound was something I'd not been exposed to before.
If you haven't heard funky house/breaks before, this is worth a listen. Nothing like the dance music of the 90's, this flares into the 00's with a feeling of clean, upbeat tunes that put a smile on your face and a groove to your step.
Taking more of its queues from a pop origin than anything else I've listened to, I quickly overcame that issue when the tracks revealed a deep, hip-shakin' mood, with sexy fat beats and clever vocals and melodies.
The mixing (or lack thereof) between tracks leaves a lot to be desired, but at the same time you can comfortably put this CD on random with four others in the player as your friends are rocking up for an hour or two of pre-drinks before hitting the clubs. It is best used as "get you in the mood to groove" music, or "bring you back from euphoria" funk at the end of a hard night clubbing.
Worth a listen, as you might just open your eyes to one of the most enjoyable funky experiences you've listened to in the last 18 months."
