Review of the Love Story Soundtrack

"This music is very good, but this is not the original soundtrack from the movie. The original soundtrack actually has dialogue from the actors, Ali McGraw, and Ryan O'Neal. There is a "first meeting" sequence, as well as their wedding ceremony.
This is probably the original music from the movie, but not the entire original soundtrack, just to clarify for a potential future listener."

"A classic album! I remember this album out at the same time the "Shaft" was out by Isaac Hayes in the very early 70's. I've only got this on cassette right now and will be ordering the CD. I'm surprised it took so long to actually be released on CD. Most of the tracks on the album are just different renditions/arrangements of the Love Story theme. I especially like "The Christmas Trees", and the sultry vocal on "I Love You, Phil." This album brings back those memories from the early 70's, a time when the world seemed a little less complex and down to earth."
One of the Best musical scores ever.

"I remember seeing the film when it came out in the theatres and then getting the soundtrack on vinyl and playing it to death. Now with the CD release it still brings back the images of the film and the times it was released as vividly as if they were today. The score is haunting and beautiful and magnificently echoed the feel of the story, enhancing the youth, promise and sadness in the lives of Oliver and Jenny. If you loved the film, you have to have the album. The CD sounds great and even though it is a little pricey due to it being an import (not sure why it has never been released domestically), it is well worth it. And as for the comment by one of the other reviewers that this isn't the original soundtrack, yes it is. I had the vinyl copy and it's the same record. I don't know what you are talking about dialogue being on the album. It never had dialogue unless another edition was released later like they did with the "Titanic" soundtrack, but I never came across it."
