Back in the late 50s/early 60s, British artists routinely covered American hits for the UK market, often, with great success, although instances of the US acts covering home grown UK hits were virtually unknown at that time. This thoroughly unlikely compilation presents 31 rare examples of British hits being covered by US artists, disc 1 featuring the American cover and disc 2 comprising of the original UK versions. Featuring artists as disparate as: Connie Francis, Andy Williams, Joni James, The Ventures, Robin Luke, Ersel Hickey, The Kalin Twins, Margie Singleton and Bobby Vinton covering UK hits by Cliff Richard, Anthony Newley, Shirley Bassey, Bert Weedon, Marty Wilde, Adam Faith, Joe Brown, Helen Shapiro and Eden Kane. Several of these US cover versions are almost unfeasibly obscure, and have never previously appeared on CD.
