CD Reviews

Milking Of The No Limit Dynasty
Michel Short | 01/23/2010
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I love Master P's music and almost all No Limit Recording Artists, but this compilation is terrible! Not the compilation itself, but the people behind it. True, it's got all the hits "Make Em Say Ugh", "Down 4 My N's", "Ice On My Wrist", "Soulja Party" etc. But this collection, was just another attempt by Priority Records to make a fast buck. The record executives thought that since all of the U.S. remembered Master P/No Limit from the late 90's and that nearly all the albums are now out of print, they would sell millions of an overpriced 2 disc set, with only some hits and mostly fillers. Also the compilation mainly glorifies their top selling artists P, Silkk, C and misses out on a lot of their more underground artists like Young Bleed, who is only on 1 song! And yes a lot of hits are here, but with 200+ albums from the label, their would at least 10 volumes of this!

Another reason why they put out was because they were taking advantage of No Limit's unfortunate and very sad bankcruptcy. Priority has been wanting their money since they started in the early 90's and the day they went out of business, was the day jackpot happened for the others. Also, the unexpected and tragic deaths of Big Ed and Soulja Slim and the wrongful and corrupt incarcerations of C-Murder and Mac, really threw the label off. In the early 2000's people like Mystikal, Mr. Serv On, etc. dropped from the label to seek other goals. Leaving behind hundreds of songs for Priority to use for whenever they want. I'm surprised that Master P is so tolerent of them.

So listeners, buyers and No Limit fans beware, all of this is a bunch of record label executives asking for your money. If you are a diehard fan, hunt down all the albums like I've been doing and make your own greatest hits albums. Don't support a big business, who takes advantage of a small business which was never treated right from the beginning."
