Another addition to the KWJZ 98.9 Smooth Jazz series

If you already collect the KWJZ 98.9 Smooth Jazz series, as many Smooth Jazz fans in the Seattle area do, then you will probably want to own this CD as well.

That said, I don't think this is the best CD in the 98.9 series. While only a couple of songs are really below par (especially the smultzy "Biggest Part of Me"), some of the choices could have been much better.

I was particularly puzzled by the dated nature of some songs. From a sampler such as this, one normally wants all songs that debuted or hit big in the year the sampler was released (which, in this case, is late 2006). So why so much old material here?

In particular, I don't think "September" -- an Earth, Wind & Fire hit from the late-70s -- belongs on a Smooth Jazz sampler CD in the first place, let alone one put out in 2006.

In the end, if you already collect the KWJZ 98.9 Smooth Jazz series, then you will probably want to own this CD as well. If you don't, this is not the first one you want to buy.
