"I bought this album on spec as I hadn't heard of any of the artists; and with good reason as this is the first time most of them have had their music on wide release. And what fantastic music it is. This is an absolute goldmine of rockin', swingin', down-home C&W. Fiddles, steel, guitar, GREAT songs and superb singing; it's all here in spades. I won't go into the songs; they are all rippers. The production on some tracks is a little weak ut the digital remastering makes everything jump right out of the speakers and gets that worn-out cowboy boot tappin'. Just put it on and let it go. The earlier songs are probably a little superior to the latter but there are gems all the way through. This is real country music as it was after WWII; done by "amateurs" who rocked up to the studio and let rip with a couple of original numbers and smokin' bands.
I can't wait for the second volume as there must be a rich vein of this sort of material out there. If you buy this album you will not be disappointed; that is if you like late 40's, early 50's hillbilly country music. There's fun, fun, fun in every track; Yes Sireeee!!
All original, all great and all will bring a smile to your face."
