HAUNTING SCORE FOR A MEDIOCRE MOVIE

"Tip of the hat to Eidelman's use of piano to convey a plaintive cry from distant lands, former Yugoslavia in this case. The film itself drew a mixed reaction from me, but its baleful background score will not disappoint. I came looking in particular for the title number by Pascal Obispo, which for some inadequately explored reason did not find its way into this compilation. Strange, as it is quite a clincher to the film. But barring that gripe, and it is a big one, this relatively obscure CD should make for a fabulous addition to your collection if you have a penchant for soundtracks."
