Synopsis

Product Description
When the classic comedy series Petticoat Junction premiered in 1963 on the heels of its sister series The Beverly Hillbillies -- it became an
immediate hit, ranking #4 for the season. The series ran for over 200
episodes through 1970 and became a popular fixture in syndication,
TV Land and other nostalgic outlets.

Part of Petticoat Junction's huge popularity could be traced to the
three lovely ladies who starred as sisters on the show: Linda Kaye
Henning as Betty Jo Bradley, Lori Saunders as Bobbi Jo Bradley
and Meredith MacRae as Billie Jo Bradley. Before there were
Charlie's Angels, these girls were subtle sex symbols of the
'60s, appealing to the guys while also being idolized by female viewers.

During the long run of the sitcom, these "Hooterville Honeys"
become a musical act, appearing at night clubs, fairs and other
venues as well as television music-variety-talk programs with
Johnny Carson, Ed Sullivan, Mike Douglas, Pat Boone and
Dick Clark.

In 1968, the Petticoat Junction gals hit Liberty Recording Studios with
music producer Joe Saraceno (The Ventures and The Sunshine
Company) and the group of Los Angeles studio musicans known
as the Wrecking Crew to lay down slices of quintessential '60s pop
for Imperial Records.

THE GIRLS FROM PETTICOAT JUNCTION - SIXTIES SOUNDS
compiles the long-unavailable and highly-collectible
Imperial singles onto an album for the very first time, including
previously unreleased tracks and debut stereo versions for every
recording. Among the bonus material is a rare 1967 Capitol Records
single by Meredith MacRae (Who Needs Memories Of Him, Goodbye
Love) and the Petticoat Junction theme song sung by original TV series
vocalist and co-composer Curt Massey, complete with train whistle.
