Classics classically

"This is not an album of Bossa Nova samba music. It is, however, a seious treatment of Jobim's compositions mostly in chamber music form. There are a couple of vocals and Jane Duboc recorded with Gerry Mulligan. I liked the classical treatments because almost all did have a pianist. The typical chamber group does not. Just my personal preference. The sound is immaculate but hey, this is an Audiophile label. Ver similar to the spectacular sound of David Chesky's label here in the USA. Jobim's music always had a serious classical element due to Jobim's study of composition and a tradition from Portugal that gave Brasil classicalist like Villa-Lobos. Jobim's music takes to the classical bent very well. Not essential but rewarding."
