CD Reviews

Overall Great Compilation but Two Tracks are on Steroids
Princess of Borneo | KK, KL, London & NYC | 07/18/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I get so excited when I am the first person to review albums! Anyway, let's get down to it. The Open Season track by Foremost Poets made my blood cells twitch and dance with a joyous red. Compost did it again. They do it all the time, it's such an amazing label. I forgot I was single-aging-female-geek, I forgot I had work to do.I stood up, and started dancing barefooted. Joseph Malik's Futuristica should be playing at clubs. The only track I didn't quite like was Along, by Alexander Kowalski. It was progressive trance vs. IDM vs. jazz on steroids. I think it's one of those tracks you'll either love or hate with a passion. Yellowtail's Moa is a bit generic in nu jazz standards. Good attempt though. The rest of the songs are beautiful supplements to the compilation. All in all I didn't like two tracks, but I grew to like one in a pervy sort of way.If you are a real nu-jazz addict, and compost records supporter, you have to own this despite that one generic song and the genre-bender on steroids. :)"
