"Front Line
If you once heard a reggae sound and thought it sounded nice, then this is the best money you've ever spent on a 4 CD box set.
Why? Well:
1) It's organized into four logical groups of reggae.
2) It's got a mixture of those 'well known' artists, as well as those you CAN NOT BELIEVE you have never heard of before - as they often are better than the well known artists
3) The quality of the recordings is such that you're supremely impressed with the audio technician who cleaned some of the recordings up. Your stereo won't need to have the treble / bass fooled with.
4) It's not 12 tracks - it's 86 TRACKS ... GIVING you so much music when you play it on random, it always feels fresh
For those of you reggae fanatics, Prince Far I, I Roy, Culture, The Gladiators, Tapper Zukie ... what are you waiting for? A brick to hit you in the head?"
An amazing box set

"I picked this box set up at my local library. It is amazing. . . I didn't know anything about "The front line" label and boy did I learn allot. The biggest influence from this box set is Linton Kwesi Johnson. Without this set, I would be picking a multitude of different artists at random. So from the point of not knowing allot about reggae, this set was invaluable! Taught me so very much. . . . Now the coast. . . I paid 1$ to check this set out. Would I pay the 60$ price tag. . . probable not. . . . . because I simple cannot afford 60$ for a cd set. Check your local library. . . and if they do not have it. . . . more to NZ.Cheers,me"
