Two CD collection that focus' on two legendary New York labels headed by Bobby Robinson. His Fire and Fury record Labels were Harlem's hottest during the late 1950s and early `60s, releasing a solid stream of national smashes. Fire's first major success came toward the end of the year when whooping harpist Buster Brown's irresistible Country Blues throwback 'Fannie Mae' topped the R&B hit parade in early `59 and made a #38 pop impression. Wilbert Harrison punched Bobby's ticket to the big time in `60 by presenting him with 'Kansas City', an instant Rock `n' Roll classic. Robinson also welcomed Gladys Knight & The Pips, just starting out and soaring high in the charts with their seminal Every Beat Of My Heart and Letter Full Of Tears. Throughout the early `60s Fire & Fury scored an extensive list of hits.
