Amazon.com Falling in Love Is Wonderful is a solid hourlong collection of Broadway love duets. The bulk of the selections are from the old RCA catalog, and as is typical with a label-specific compilation, many of the most recognizable songs are from revival-cast recordings--"People Will Say We're in Love" from the 1979 Oklahoma! revival, "If I Loved You" from the 1965 Carousel revival--but performed by such stars as Ethel Merman, John Raitt, and Barbara Cook, that's not necessarily a bad thing. But some are the original cast, such as Fiddler on the Roof, and it's not all RCA: the Sony-BMG merger allows for the inclusion of some authentic gems from the old Columbia catalog such as West Side Story's "Tonight" and Bells Are Ringing's "Just in Time." Last, bonus points are deserved for crediting each singer and recording, and for including terrific recent fare such as Parade's "All the Wasted Time" and A New Brain's "Sailing." --David Horiuchi
