Exceptionally Remixed is a compilation of some of the best mixes taken from the catalogue of the London based label, Exceptional Records. The label feels that it is important that each of the tracks is presented individually rather than part of a mix compilation. Virtually none of these tracks had appeared on CD format before and the 12's having had limited pressings are sought after items on people?s ''record wants'' list so it was a good idea to deliver a compilation where the listener would be presented with the original versions and the remixes. Presenting the tracks in their entirety makes it clear to see (and hear) that each of the remixers has been respectful to the original version, taking certain elements from the masters and giving their own slant to them. The remixers represent some of the masters of their craft: Osunlade, Akufen, Moonstarr, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Bugz in The Attic, Quantic, Jimpster and even the ever popular Spiritual South with his first ever commercial remix.
