Synopsis
Album Description The Elemental Chill Series is comprised of four CDs, each one representing a different element found in nature, Fire, Earth, Air and Water. Each CD is carefully compiled to reflect the mood that each element evokes. Volume 1 in the Elemental Chill series, Fire, is a very upbeat affair. From relaxed, but sunny lounge, to bright, electronic pop, this compilation is the perfect accompaniment to an outdoor cocktail party or a day at the pool. Grab that sunscreen and soak up the vibes! Nominated for The AFIM Indie Award for Best Electronica Album 2002. Similarly Requested CDs

CD ReviewsZesty and Tempered, Together as One! Eatbugs | USA | 12/15/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I want to say this volume of Elemental Chill is my favorite, but in reality they are all excellent. "Fire" displays an attitude and a slightly more lively quality than the other volumes I currently own (Fire, Earth and Air). All the Elemental discs have their own mood, and for me "Fire" inspires creativity. I have listened to this disc while painting and found the results quite satisfactory!" Elemental Chill on Fire! L Chenille | Washington, DC | 01/15/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "The entire 4 volume series rises above the chillout clutter that is out there now. As a fan of the genre I rank the Elemental CDs among my favorites of all time. On the Fire volume my favorite songs are "Quanto Tengo..." - Afrit and "Superspectral" - Tao of Groove." Smoothly Smoldering Mark Eremite | Seoul, South Korea | 11/01/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Spicy hot with sassy latin steam, aglow with sparks of psychadelic funk, and streaming the lanky sweat of summer-night tangos, the Fire album in the Elemental Chill series doesn't blaze as much as it smolders.
From the groovy opening bit by Afrit, the disc sets a tantalizing tone, one of tiki torches and red-tongued teasing. Songs like "Magic Single Barrel" keep the mood at a low-key roast, while others like "Love From The Sun" make sure the disc's long, evening shadows flicker enough to be fun. The only song that even partially drags the set down is Intuit's "O Preguicoso," which sounds as if it were recorded while someone's alarm clock was bleeping incessantly in the background. A nit-pick, considering how ably this album (and even the series as a whole) manages to embody the whole idea of "chillout." As warm and playful as a beach-side romp, anyone who enjoys the kind of dancing you can do on your back would do well to pick up this steamy little number." |
