Uh-oh..you better think twice...is this a scam?

"Well, is this another case of recording company trickery...? you tell me... Here we have 10 cuts...by the original artists...BUT...are these the original recordings? Here's the clue: "Originally Recorded Prior to 1972"...so what does that mean? More importantly, what does that imply? Since this is a collection of "Doo Wop's greatest hits" we're going to have to take that as a given...right? I can pretty much tell you that the doo-wop phase of r'n'r had come and gone by '72...The original release date listed in the product info is 2002 for this collection so it's my guess that these are NOT the originals but remade STEREO versions to take advantage of that NEW technology...but I really don't KNOW..i am speculating...if these are new stereo recordings by the original artists is that as good as the "real thing"...or better(!) or is this a rip? Do you want the original? I'm listening to the CD now and it's rockin', i just can't tell if these are the originals. So, for 99 cents and s&h ..(another clue?) That's the whole idea of getting these old compilations...it's too hard to collect them individually...some of these oldies collections are more straightforward about being "the original recordings by the original artists"...that info is actually missing from the liner info in this case...so...that's also a clue. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, just don't assume...actually some of these cuts are so obscure that it's hard to believe that someone re-recorded them as a scam...especially Vito and the Salutations, whose take on "Unchained Melody" is a new one to me...If this is the original, it's worth it to hear what "was" before "what came after"....Bottom line...at this price, i'm diggin' the tunes.....I'm deducting a star for lack of info in the liner material...because the more I listen, the more "authentic" this sounds...."
