Strong, but with a few misfires

"This disc is the right price for what you get. It's a fresh, one year old 12 tracker that really shows DIY's diversity and ingenuity as a label. I was looking for somehting smooth and a little more chilled-out than "chilled-out" house music, and this CD was a steal at its price. It starts off with a glowing track from Calm entitled "Night Ride To Home" and is almost worth the price of the CD itself. To clear up any doubt about that, the next track really started to nail the CD down for me as a staple in the player for awhile (Fred Everything's "Time's Movin' On"), and it went up and down from there. I played it for my girlfriend, who isn't into anything clubby too much and she dug it right off. Some of it goes a bit left-field for a while (Super Beat Pusher's "Kidfunka" is stock MTV commercials and Baby Mammoth's "Retold" is a bit dry), but there's some good stuff on here to make it all worth while. Is it better than... "Serve Chilled: A Collection..." - no "Coffee Shop: The chillin sessions 3" - yes Mujaji "Free Rain" - no"
