"Wow, if you're looking for those hard-to-find Dixie tunes in a CD, these are they! Listen to this album and get lost in the sounds of New Orleans. It's difficult to locate songs like these nowadays, but this is a prime example of what I remember hearing on a steamboat paddling up the Mississippi through the heart of New Orleans.It's got a non-obtrusive bass and trap pair, the percussive strumming of an acoustic banjo sounding guitar, a couple of decent trumpets, a trombone, a tuba, and a clarinet. I like how some tracks have tuba and some have bass, it makes a good contrast and keeps the music from getting stale.Buy this if you want to hear dixie music at is current best. This is about as good a rendition as I've been able to find from today's selections.~C~"
