"Known for its avant-garde "Lounge" and "Chill" playlist, the Buddha Bar is a chic Buddha-themed club in Paris. The "Buddha Bar" series was started by Tunisian house DJ Claude Challe, who practically invented the chill genre of lounge music in 1999 by mixing Occidental elements with spiritual elements in his music. I'll always associate this fourth Buddha-Bar compilation disc with a Breton love interest, who gave the CD to me as a gift several years ago because it was her favorite in the Buddha-Bar series. Produced and sequenced by Buddha Bar house DJ David Visan, Buddha Bar 4 is an intoxicating fusion of tabla-driven planetary grooves from the Middle East, North Africa, India, and Brazil, with hip Parisian references. The 28 tracks featured on the two CDs include:
Disc 1 (The "Dinner" disc):
1. La Fille De Pekin - Frederick Rousseau
2. Tibet (A Passage To...) - Tibet Project
3. Opium - Jade Or
4. Moonrise - Natin Sawhney
5. A Window Of My Dreams - Nash Didan
6. Amatevi - Agricantus
7. Tiempo - Manuel Franjo
8. Historia De Un Amor - Guadalupe Pineda Con Los Tres Ases
