"This compilation was a pleasant surprise. I picked it up for for the Alkaline Trio, Saves the Day, and Get Up Kids songs, but found myself enjoying several bands that were new to me at the time. The Anniversary songs (which have been labeled "bad" in other reviews) were fantastic, as well as "Thanx for Stayin'", Reggie and the Full Effect's contribution to the compilation. Interestingly enough, the Alkaline Trio songs ("Crawl" and "Bloodied Up") are slightly different than their album versions. An alternate version of "I'm a Loner, Dottie. A Rebel..." by the Get Up Kids is also included. There are a few songs on the comp. that I could do without, such as those by Koufax and the Gotohells, but this is one of the best (second only to The Emo Diaries series and Another Year on the Streets Volume 2) punk/emo compilations out there. If you're a fan of new-school or pop emo, or just want to know what this crazy "emo" word means, this is definitely for you."
Great Compilation

"This comp was (inexpensive) and it had some bands I'd heard of when I bought it. Then I listened to it. The Alkaline Trio songs are catchy and a bit dark, but still poppy. The Get Up Kids had a re-hash of I'm a Loner... which is alright and a weird brand new song, which I don't like. Saves the Day have two darn good songs, one of which is new. The Anniversary, being the best band ever, had the best two songs on the comp, including the epic 8.5 minute closer I Believe that the End of the Reign of Terror is Soon Near. I don't care for the Gotohells or Rocket From the Crypt, two bands that don't fell like they belong because of their more punk rock style. A great buy for any punk/emo fan. rock on."
Another year makes it even better.

"As if Vagrant records didn't rock already from their first cd from the streets, they outdid themselves with this amazing comp. With Alkaline Trio, Saves the Day, face to face, and Get Up Kids in addition to other rockin bands, this is a wonderful mix of soulful punk with catchy melodies and rhythms. Vagrants roster gets better and better, and this CD is proof positive that they know what they are doing. Everyone should buy it, and for 5 bucks, you simply cant do any better. This is an AWESOME cd!!"
All the decent bands Vagrant stole (expect the Anni.)

"Man this actually has some good songs on it, like Saves the Day before they got really really bad, good Alkaline Trio, the last song by the Anniversary and that RFTC song are pleasant to the soul. Yeah this is Vagrant records at thier best, before they went around stealing every hot "emo" band in the world. I do like that last Anni. song though!"

"Dude! 20 songs ...! Pretty good deal. Actually, this CD introduced me to the Alkaline Trio, Reggie and the Full Effect, Saves the Day and The Anniversary (okay, their second song on the disc, the closer isn't all that hot, but D In Detroit is pretty dang good). No Motiv rocks out, Face To Face isn't bad, and the Automatic 7 is good too. Rocket From The Crypt have always been pretty hit or miss, and this time is no different, and as far as the Get Up Kids go - this is not their best stuff. Still, it's a pretty good mix for dirt cheap and it's a good way to show off to your friends all the cool obscure music you like..."
