"So you ran through the Pebble series a long time ago. You were happy to find the Graveyard series, and then Teenage Shutdown. You were disappointed with the Cicadelic series (mostly), but you found
Quagmire. You worked in English Freakbeat and that got you over the hump. You stumbled onto Stormin the Garage and thought you had made it back to the promised land. You did some Arf Arf labels and that tided you over for awhile. Greatest hit comps provided some satisfaction, but somehow you knew where those groups were going, and that slick, jaded sound sent you into deep depression (except for Paul Revere and the Raiders). You had a soft spot for the Great Society, but you knew Grace Slick was fixin' to dump her relations and go for the gusto. Yes, where would the next bad reverb and studio chatter and missed chord come from, sung by no-name kids. Was there not just one more Mick Jagger wanna be out there who hit on the perfect hook, only to have it filed away in some, say, Virginia recording, uh, office.Of the three, this is it. If the above makes sense to you, this is it. You may not achieve the ultimate high you once got from discovering that the Pretty Things, or The Chocolate Watchband could go head to head with the Kinks or Stones, and were way better than the other 90% that made it out there. But you've arrived--buy it. At least two here should've blown the stones right off the ariwaves. Many more to relieve your current depression. A fix, man, just take it."
