Product DescriptionHouse and disco legend, Joey Negro, celebrates 20 years of production with a special Triple CD release on his Z-Records imprint this Summer, taking in some of his finest output and mixed by long term friends and legends in their own right, Grant Nelson and DJ Spinna. It's hard to believe that it has been 20 years since the first Joey Negro record "Do It, Believe It" was released on New York's trend setting house label Nu Groove. Unsure of an act name for the track Dave made up a spoof alter ego from two records he had next too his desk at work - Pal Joey and J Walter Negro - it wasn't something he anticipated would be used for more than that one track let alone the next 20 years. '20 Years of Joey Negro' is delivered in three parts; the first entitled Joey Negro and mixed by Grant Nelson, 'The Sunburst Band' mixed by Dj Spinna follows and finally a bonus disc of exclusive edits, remixes and productions. 'Joey Negro' is the first to hit the ears and it's a 20 track delight. Expertly sequed by Grant Nelson, it's a trip through Lee's superb house catalogue and is rammed with instantly recognisable classics. The indominatable DJ Spinna serves up CD2, 'The Sunburst Band', which is a journey through some of the finest output of Lee's much lauded live-band project, The Sunburst Band. A return to the purity of Dave's influences, The Sunburst Band has been a huge critical success and is a veritable goldmine of unadulterated, sundrenched soul, disco and funk. '20 Years of Joey Negro' is a brilliant trawl through some of the finest dance music to come out of the UK in the past two decades but add the fact that it's all down to one man and it quite simply beggars belief. We can all raise a glass, then, to '20 Years of Joey Negro'.
