"There are tons of beats. Beats and beats and beats. If you want beats, well here they are. I am an old school dj and definately miss the gyst of the songs here. I'd say the best cut is Angie Stone. The re-beated versions of the Isley Brothers, Harold Melvin, Sly, etc. seem unneccesary. There's nothing new there and definately nothing interesting. I bought this 5-disc cd set thinking I'd find at least a couple killer cuts. THere is such a lack of imagination here. You get a beat, a bass line that is not exactly killer, and keyboards with wooshing sounds all over and tiny cuts of voices on occasion. If you're really stoned this might be good but then if that's what I wanted I would've bought the trance set. A definate disappointment in the lack of imagintaion. Boy, you should've heard how it used to be done....."
